PBDA’s Distance Learning program began on Monday, March 30 for students in Pre-Primary through Grade 9.
Google Classroom serves as the main platform for the Lower Campus where classroom teachers upload their daily lessons. The students are working on materials from their learning bags, provided to each student before Spring Break dismissal. We are incorporating apps that students are already familiar with, like Dreambox, IXL, SeeSaw, and Kids A-Z (RAZ-KIDS). Our Specialists in Art, Music, P.E., Spanish, Library and Innovation Lab are providing scheduled lessons to all Homeroom teachers.
The Upper Campus is following a distance learning daily schedule that is specific to Grade 4, Grades 5-6, and Grades 7-9. Teachers are utilizing Zoom to hold live classes for students. In addition to the traditional PBDA curriculum, each daily schedule also consists of an”activities time” where students are encouraged to work on an art assignment, practice their instrument, participate in community service, and more. The schedules also incorporate time for students to remain physically active each day, as well as help the adults around their home during a “How Can I Help?” activity period.
Homework for the forthcoming week will be posted to Bulldog Den each Sunday by 4PM.
