We pride ourselves on being a true “family school,” and we welcome parents to be a part of our events both during and after school hours. While not mandatory, your presence is particularly encouraged at the Lower Campus’ Friday Flag Assembly and other school events, including our annual Hatching Ceremony in the Fall and Field Day in late Winter.
Keep your eye out for the Weekly Update email, sent every Friday, and check out our Events page frequently to stay updated on upcoming school events.
Lower Campus Flag Assembly
Held select Fridays throughout the school year, Pre-Primary through Third Grades take turns “leading” the Flag Assembly. Parents are welcome to join at any point throughout the year, but most parents make a point to attend if their child’s grade will be performing. You will be notified in advance by your classroom teacher and through the PBDA Master Calendar.
Upper Campus Assembly
Held nearly every Monday and Friday throughout the school year starting at 8am, Assembly brings together Fourth through Ninth Grades to share in accolades, celebrate recent academic and athletic wins, view the latest Bulldog TV segment, and hear updates from the school faculty.
New Family Breakfast
Hosted by the Parent Ambassador Committee each May for all new family members, the breakfast provides an opportunity for new families to connect with each other, as well as current members of the PBDA community.
Lower Campus Open House
The Lower Campus Open House, held on August 30, 2019 from 8:30am – 10:30am on the Lower Campus, invites to campus all Pre-Primary through Third Grade students and their parents for a meet-and-greet prior to the first week of school. Be on the lookout over the summer for additional details.
Upper Campus New Student Orientation
The Upper Campus New Student Orientation, held on the Upper Campus on August 30, 2019, invites all Fourth Graders and their parents, as well as all new students in Grades 5-9 and their parents, to get better acquainted with PBDA prior to the first week of school.
The orientation includes remarks from the Head of Upper Campus, a uniform “show and tell” with several returning students, a walking tour of the campus, a meet-and-greet with the student’s advisors and teachers, and more. Be on the lookout over the summer for additional details.
New Parent Cocktail Party
Invitations are typically sent out late summer for this gathering, held each September, to officially welcome new parents into the PBDA community.
