K-3 Elementary Teacher

Palm Beach Day Academy, established in 1921, is an independent, coeducational school serving 410 students from age 2 to Grade 9, on two campuses. The Lower Campus, which teaches students from two years old through Grade 3, seeks a talented and energetic full-time teacher to begin August 2020.

The successful candidate will plan and implement the curriculum using a variety of teaching approaches within a co-teaching model. Knowledge of Teachers College Readers and Writers Workshop and a strong phonics background is essential. The candidate must be able to incorporate project-based learning that is student-driven. They should use a Responsive classroom approach to running morning meetings and addressing the social and emotional needs of students. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, and a strong work ethic, as well as enthusiasm for being a committed team member, are all critically important. Teams of teachers work collaboratively to meet each student’s needs in the best manner possible. 

All applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the Elementary level is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum, is essential.
