Martha Bjorklund Introduces Herself to the PBDA Family

Martha Bjorklund and her husband Brad were introduced to the PBDA family during her visit in late January.  She spent time with teachers and administrators and met many Lower School parents at a special evening reception.

Martha currently serves as Assistant Head of Lower School at Allendale-Columbia School, Rochester, NY, where she has been for 15 years. While there, she was also Head of the school’s Pre-Primary Division, a first grade teacher, and admissions evaluator. Prior to her current school, Martha was a first grade teacher and Reading specialist at Saint David’s School, NYC for many years.

Martha received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY; and a M.S. in Reading from Fordham University, NYC. She has received numerous awards over the years for her leadership and teaching, specifically for working in early childhood education and curriculum development. Martha has also presented before many professional conferences, such as Learning and the Brain, Association of Mathematics Teachers of NY, Early Childhood Division of NY Association of Independent Schools, and National Science Teachers Association, to name a few.

Welcome Martha and Brad.
