Spring Updates from PBDA’s National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)

Two Students Awarded Outstanding Achievement Award

This spring, two eighth graders – Bertie A. and Alexis K. – were awarded the 2020 National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Outstanding Achievement Award for their many accomplishments in academics, community service, and other extracurricular activities at Palm Beach Day Academy.

The National Junior Honor Society offers the award each year to help middle-level students jump-start their quest toward higher education. The award recognizes 500 exceptional NJHS students with $500, to be placed in a college savings account program-managed by Oppenheimer Funds (OFI Private Investments) as part of the New Mexico Education Trust Board’s 529 college savings plan: The Education Plan. Congratulations to Bertie and Alexis!

Two New NJHS Inductees

On Thursday, May 7, two new NJHS inductees – Shakari B. and Hayley W. – were inducted into PBDA’s NJHS through a virtual Zoom ceremony. Both students earned over a 90 average for their second trimester, had all 1s and 2s in effort, and completed over 10 hours of community service. Their parents and advisors joined them in the memorable induction ceremony.
